Dr RENFREY CLARKE has been campaigning for peace and social justice since he was a draft resister and anti-war activist in the days of the Vietnam conflict.
A specialist on Latin America and Russia, he spent many years as a foreign correspondent for progressive news sources including Green Left Weekly.
As a car worker, he lived for six weeks on the picket line during the Ford Broadmeadows strike of 1982.
A school teacher, translator, poet and songwriter, Renfrey is also a writer and commentator on the world's environmental crisis. Renfrey currently works in disability care. He is Adelaide convener of the Socialist Alliance.
